Role: Art Director / Creative Technologist Client: Emirates Airline Type: XR Pavilion / Interactive Touchpoints / Real-Time Content / 360° Cinema
Brief To develop a world-class, future-facing exhibition exploring next-generation aviation. The pavilion required a unified conceptual direction spanning nine interactive touchpoints, robotics, and a personalised visitor journey culminating in a bespoke 360° film.
Contribution and Approach This was a three-year project with two months spent on-site in Dubai. I led early concept development, helping to shape a cohesive narrative that tied together themes of propulsion, aerodynamics, sustainable materials, and future cabin design.
Working closely with Unreal Engine artists, robotics engineers, AV technicians, and fabrication partners, I ensured the technical and creative elements aligned. A key innovation was the Emirates Seed—an RFID token allowing visitors to log into each interactive station. I helped define the user journey and creative logic behind how each interaction contributed data to the final personalised film.
Every interactive was powered by Unreal Engine; our work included what is believed to be the world’s first UE4 integration with a robotic arm for a public installation. I also collaborated with leading studios to ensure content, mechanical elements, and spatial integrations remained cohesive across all workstreams.
